How Much Gold Can You Carry to India?
The rules that matter for the UAE–India corridor (as of September 2026 — always verify before flying, as rules change): Indian passengers who have lived abroad for more than a year can bring gold jewellery duty-free up to 40 grams for women and 20 grams for men — jewellery only, worn or carried. Gold bars, biscuits and coins get no duty-free allowance at all — they attract duty from the first gram. Beyond the free allowance, up to 1kg per passenger can be brought in on payment of customs duty. Foreign tourists of non-Indian origin get no gold jewellery concession.
